Our physicians and surgeons are national leaders in their respective specialties and constantly strive for excellence by participating and presenting in national/international conferences, as well as conducting clinical and basic science research.
Our Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology Fellowship educates the next generation of academic neurointerventional surgeons. The program is program is a joint effort between the Departments of Radiology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery at University of Iowa Health Care.
What is Neuro Critical Care and Neurointerventional Surgery?
Neuro Critical Care is a neurology subspecialty focusing on the the diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening diseases of the nervous system.
Neurointerventional Surgery is a neurology subspecialty focusing on minimally invasive procedures of the brain and spine.
Cerebrovascular conditions are those that involve a blockage or malformation in the blood vessels in your brain or spine.
Conditions that we treat may include:
- Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)
- Brain aneurysms
- Brain tumors
- Head and neck tumors
- Skull base and pituitary tumors
- Subarachnoid hemorrhage
