Letter from the Senior Director of the Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology

We appreciate your interest in the Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. We offer professional training based on exposure to a wide spectrum of neuropsychological disorders and guidance from several full time faculty with expertise in all of the major subspecialties of our discipline.

Our goal is for each fellow to complete the training program having achieved a high level of clinical competence, and unmistakable self-confidence as a neuropsychologist. Virtually the entire fellowship program is based at University Hospitals, one of the largest university hospitals in the nation. Clinical training is enriched by formal teaching in the basic neurosciences, opportunities for research, and a culture that values becoming a teacher as well as a learner.  For information about applying, see here.

The Iowa-Benton Tradition

We are proud of the graduates of our program, and we launch them on their careers with a high level of confidence that they will perpetuate the tradition and reputation of outstanding clinical training that has been associated with the Benton Neuropsychology Clinic for decades.

I hope the information found here answers your questions about our fellowship program. If there are questions that remain unanswered, they can be directed to me by mail at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Department of Neurology, 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, Iowa 52242, or call 319-384-6050, or by e-mail at daniel-tranel@uiowa.edu.
