CLINICAL FACULTY - NEUROPSYCHOLOGY

The University of Iowa Department of Neurology is seeking faculty for a full-time position in Neuropsychology. The appointment will be on the clinical (non-tenure) track, with appointment rank (i.e., Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) based on qualifications.
The position requires the delivery of clinical neuropsychological services, including assessment and rehabilitation, under the auspices of the Benton Neuropsychology Clinic. The Benton Clinic follows a flexible battery, hypothesis-driven approach to assessment, using many instruments that were created at Iowa by Arthur Benton, a founder of the field.
The Benton Clinic is staffed by neuropsychologists and postdoctoral residents, and a technician-based testing approach is utilized. Neuropsychologists in the clinic have extensive contact with leading scientists in neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience. Neuropsychologists work in direct collaboration with neurologists and other physicians, and have access to daily case conferences, grand rounds, special lectures, and numerous outstanding educational opportunities. The Benton Clinic also has close ties with the Neuroscience PhD Program and the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of Iowa. The Clinic functions in a spacious area of the University Hospitals, in the Department of Neurology, and provides a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitation services. The patient population is comprised primarily of adults with neurological disease including degenerative conditions, stroke, epilepsy, tumor, head injury, and movement disorders.
The Department of Neurology is made up of more than 40 full-time faculty members who provide local, national and international leadership across a range of neurology subspecialties, including Cognitive Neurology, Cerebrovascular Disease, Clinical Electrophysiology, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis, Neuromuscular Disease, Neuropsychology, and Sleep Disorders. The Department of Neurology has a long tradition of excellence in research, a well-developed research infrastructure, and an outstanding patient population that supports efforts in a variety of areas of clinical and research investigations.

CLINICAL ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR - NEUROLOGY

The University of Iowa, Department of Neurology is recruiting a faculty member specializing in Epilepsy. The appointment will be on the clinical track at the Associate rank. The position involves delivery of outpatient care in the Department of Neurology’s Epilepsy Clinic, attending on the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, reading EEG and IOM studies in the EEG laboratory, and taking EEG call. The successful candidate will join a group of six adult epileptologists and two additional EEG/IOM readers. The University of Iowa Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is the only NAEC Level 4 epilepsy center in the state of Iowa.
