The UIHC is recognized for innovation, excellence, and leadership in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis and other neuroimmunologic diseases.

Our physicians and surgeons are national leaders in their respective specialties and constantly strive for excellence by participating and presenting in national/international conferences, as well as conducting clinical and basic science research.

Our Neuroimmunology Fellowship Program trains the next generation of neuroimmunologists. The fellowship is a one-year program that provides fellows with a rich clinical experience. Fellows gain experience in adult and pediatric demyelinating disorders, autoimmune and inflammatory neurological diseases, and neurological infectious diseases.

What is NeuroImmunology?

NeuroImmunology is a neurology subspecialty dedicated to diagnosing, treating, and managing neuroimmunologic diseases.

Inflammatory neurological diseases occur when your immune system or an infection attacks your nervous system. These diseases can include:

  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Optic neuritis
  • Transverse myelitis
  • Autoimmune encephalitis.

Our neuroimmunologists are often among the first to learn about new or better ways to diagnose and treat these conditions.
