We welcome you to the Division of Clinical Electrophysiology at the University of Iowa Health Care!

Our physicians and surgeons are national leaders in their respective specialties and constantly strive for excellence by participating and presenting in national/international conferences, as well as conducting clinical and basic science research.
Our Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program offers exposure to EEG, EMG/NCS, intraoperative monitoring, and sleep, in a one-year ACGME-accredited program. Fellows work with adult and child epileptologists in the epilepsy monitoring unit and outpatient clinics, where they are exposed to management of seizures including vagus nerve stimulation and epilepsy surgery.
What is Clinical Electrophysiology?
Clinical electrophysiology applies electrophysiological principles to medicine, focusing on the study and treatment of various physiological conditions.
Techniques such as electrotherapy, electroencephalography (EEG), and electromyography (EMG) are used to diagnose and manage disorders related to the body's electrical activity, including cardiac arrhythmias, neuromuscular disorders, and pain management.
